Noted litigator joins firm
Mitchel J. Olson, a renowned trial lawyer who specializes in medical malpractice and pharmaceutical litigation, has joined Casey, Gerry, Reed & Schenk (CGRS) as an attorney of counsel, according to Frederick Schenk, a senior partner with the prominent plaintiff’s law firm.
“Mr. Olson is a seasoned attorney, as well as an experienced medical doctor, which makes him exceptionally qualified to focus on personal injury cases,” Schenk said. “His medial expertise will prove especially important to our growing pharmaceutical practice, which includes cases involving the recalled drugs Baycol, Fen Phen, Propulsid and Rezulin.”
Olson practices as Mitchel J. Olson, J.D., M.D., in Rancho Santa Fe. In 991, he won the largest medical malpractice case in San Diego History, achieving an award of $31,112,972 (Battle v. Rand).
Olson earned a bachelor’s degree in government from Dartmouth College, graduating summa cum laude. In addition, he has his Juris Doctorate degree from Stanford University School of Law and a medical degree from UC San Diego.
He is an active member of Consumer Attorneys of California. Consumer Attorneys of San Diego, the State Bar of California, the Western Trial Lawyers Association, and serves as a Fellow of both the American College of Law and Medicine and the Trial Lawyers College.
