By Doug Sherwin Robert Francavilla, a partner at Casey Gerry Schenk Francavilla Blatt & Penfield, has been elected to the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), an organization that comprises the country’s leading plaintiff and defense trial counsel. According to Donna Melby, ABOTA's 2005 national president, Francavilla's election further evidences his "high personal character, honorable reputation and proficiency as a trial lawyer." Francavilla is continuing a longstanding Casey Gerry tradition of involvement with ABOTA, said the firm's senior partner David Casey, Jr. "We are honored that Robert has achieved membership status in ABOTA, which is one of the country’s most prestigious trial lawyer associations," he said. "ABOTA's primary focus is to preserve the right of trial by jury, and its exacting membership requirements include the highest level of skill, civility and integrity." A seasoned trial lawyer, Francavilla has achieved more than $20 million in verdicts and settlements this year alone. He focuses his practice on all aspects of serious personal injury and wrongful death actions including product liability, automotive litigation, premises liability and highway design matters. He current is president of the Consumer Attorneys of San Diego and is a member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, the Consumer Attorneys of California and the San Diego County Bar Association. |
