Frederick Schenk is a senior partner of Casey, Gerry, Reed & Schenk.
Schenk's practice areas are Asbestos Litigation; Products Liability; Personal Injury; Truck Accidents; Automobile Accidents; Federal Employers Liability Act (FELA); and Pharmaceutical Litigation. He was admitted to the California Bar in 1979, attended the University of San Diego and earned his J.D. in 1978. He attended the University of California at Los Angeles where he earned a B.A degree in Communication Studies in 1975. He is a member of the San Diego County Bar Association (Member, Client Relations Committee, 1995-2001); State Bar of California; Consumer Attorneys of California (Member, Board of Governors, 1995 to the present); Consumer Attorneys of San Diego (Member, Board of Directors, 1987-1995; President, 1994); The Association of Trial Lawyers of America; Civil Justice Foundation (President, 2005- 2006). In 1992, he was a California Member of the Electoral College. He received the Chapter President of the Year Award from the Consumer Attorneys of California in 1994 and received the Outstanding Trial Lawyer Award from the Consumer Attorneys of San Diego in September, 2000. He is a consulting editor for Matthew Bender Legal Publications' California Pleadings and Practice, and is coauthor of the "California Automobile Collision Handbook" by Lexis Publishing 2000, and is updated yearly. He is a Fellow of the National College of Advocacy since 2002. He is currently on the Board of Directors of the 22nd District of the Agricultural Association (Del Max Fair Board) and has been since 2002. He was a member of the California Governor's San Diego County Judicial Selection Advisory Committee from 1998- 2003. He has served as President of the Lawrence Family Jewish Community Center of San Diego from 2000-2002 and is currently on its Board. On behalf of Trial Lawyers Care, Schenk provided legal representation in the Victims Compensation Fund hearings arising out of the 9/11 claims. Just recently, Schenk was sworn in as President of the Civil Justice Foundation, a national organization which awards grants to grass roots consumer advocacy groups nationwide. |
