Ruth Patterson recently joined the San Diego Foundation to serve as director of analysis and strategy for both the Science & Technology and Health & Human Services teams. Patterson has extensive research and grant-writing experience and has published nearly 100 scientific journal articles. Anne McEnany has been named director for sustainable communities for the International Community Foundation. McEnany will oversee all aspects of the foundation’s work in the areas of the environment conservation, and urban and regional planning along the Baja California peninsula. Judith K. Kammerer has been selected as library director for the Dr. William C. Herrick Community Health Care Library at Briercrest Park in La Mesa. Kammerer has work experience in the medical field at Scripps Clinic, UCSD Medical Center, Pomerado Hospital, Children’s Hospital, and the American Physician’s Network. Pennie McLaughlin Carlos was selected by Superior Court judges for a commissioner position in the Central Division. Carlos has been in the legal industry since 1987 and has experience in both federal prosecution and state defense cases. Mayor Dick Murphy has appointed Faith Bautista, and reappointed Scott Cummins, Jesse Navarro, Judy Preston, and Chi Kim Tran to the Small Business Advisory Board. Bautista has been a small business owner for 16 years; Cummins is an attorney with the law firm Casey, Gerry, Reed & Schenk; Navarro is a special assistant for community relations to the San Diego district attorney; Preston is a real estate broker and a small business owner; and Tran is the director of economic development for Union of Pan Asian Communities.
