David Casey Jr. has been chosen the recipient of the Daniel T. Broderick III award. Casey, senior partner with Casey Gerry Reed & Schenk, is past president of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America. The award is given to accomplished trial lawyers who adhere to the highest standards of civility, integrity and professionalism. San Diego County Sheriff Bill Kolender has been selected the first honoree of the Public Safety Leaders Award, sponsored by the Miramar College Foundation. Kolender, former San Diego chief of police, will be recognized on a Wall of Honor to be installed at the Public Safety Regional Training Institute at Camp Nimitz. Kolender has a record of decades of law enforcement leadership. The county of San Diego Television Network placed second in overall excellence at a conference of the National Association of Telecommunication Officers and Advisors, an association of government-access television stations. CTN took home nine awards from the event for various aspects of programming. James M. Morrison of James M. Morrison Insurance Services, Inc. of Carlsbad, has qualified to receive the Golden Eagle Award from the National Association of Health Underwriters. The award is given to individuals who have demonstrated professional excellence in the sale of health and disability income insurance. Morrison has qualified for the award for two years in row.
