There is more to being a successful attorney than simply presenting a good show in front of a judge or jury. To truly achieve victory for a client, a lawyer must approach each individual situation with an analytical and perceptive mind that can see every facet, every opportunity, every tangent that can lead to victory. Jeremy Robinson, senior associate at Casey Gerry, applies this insight as he works with every attorney in the firm on key legal issues, motions, civil writs and appeals.
This dedication and experience is reflected in Mr. Robinson’s role in several landmark cases handled by Casey Gerry:
- Combining his sense of civic responsibility and dedication to the public welfare, Mr. Robinson was part of the team working on behalf of Governor Gray Davis that secured a settlement in excess of $25 billion for the state of California against the Tobacco Industry.
- In a case where a defendant exhibited a flagrant disregard for basic safety laws and regulations, Mr. Robinson helped convince the judge that the defendant’s callous and egregious conduct should entitle the plaintiff to punitive damages, and the case was settled for $3.25 million.
- In a recent case, Mr. Robinson briefed and argued an appeal after a successful product liability case against Ingersoll Rand conducted by Casey Gerry attorneys Robert Francavilla and Tom Luneau. The preparation, analysis and victory of this hard-fought case impressed their peers enough for them to be nominated as finalists for the 2008 Consumer Attorney of the Year award, a citation presented annually by the Consumer Attorneys of California.
Mr. Robinson is a regular contributor to publications regarding emerging legal issues, and is a frequently sought-after speaker on legal matters that affect not only the legal community, but also the public at large. He coauthored a chapter in “Litigating Tort Cases”, a publication that seeks to expand the ideas of leading attorneys from around the country. He has also been the Tort Column Editor for The Trial Bar News since 2006, was selected to the Board of Directors for the Consumer Attorneys of California in 2009, and has been a featured speaker in the statewide legal education program “What’s New in Trial and Tort” since 2007.
A dedicated advocate and champion of causes large and small, Mr. Robinson spends his spare time supporting local organizations that make positive impacts on the performing arts, animal rights, and the environment.
