Mitchel Olson

Mitchel J. Olson is both an experienced attorney and a medical doctor, which makes him highly qualified to practice as a plaintiff's trial lawyer focusing on personal injury cases.

Among Dr. Olson's undergraduate honors, he was a Rufus Choate Scholar in his major --- with a special citation for work in government, economics and sociology. While earning his J.D. at Stanford University of Law, Dr. Olson also won the Hilmar Oehlmann, Jr., Memorial Writing Award. After earning his medical degree at the University of California, San Diego, he served his internship at San Diego's Mercy Hospital and Medical Center from 1987-88.

Among his many legal achievements, Dr. Olson won the largest medical malpractice verdict in San Diego County as of 1991, with an award of $31,112,972 (Battle v. Rand, San Diego Superior Court Case # 564927).

Dr. Olson is also a contributor to the Consumer Attorneys of San Diego's publication, "The Trial Bar News". He has lectured for the National Business Institute, Inc., participated in numerous seminars on California Medical Malpractice, and has addressed various consumer, student and healthcare professional groups on healthcare law.

Dr. Olson enjoys spending time with his wife Carolynne, as well as his son and daughter. In his spare time, he enjoys writing fiction and gardening in San Diego's forgiving climate.
